Luxury Black & White Bathroom Renovation in Manchester

For this bathroom renovation in Manchester, we created a much more distinctive finish using white textured marble-effect wall tiles, black fittings and subtle gold details. The room combines a spacious walk-in shower with statement lighting, a traditional-style vanity and carefully coordinated finishes for a bathroom that feels elegant without being overly decorative.

Planning & Design

The design was built around a strong black, white and gold colour palette. Instead of using standard flat bathroom tiles, we chose textured white wall tiles with fine marble veining to add depth while keeping the room bright.

The layout was also kept open, with a frameless shower screen rather than a fully enclosed cubicle, allowing the bathroom to feel larger and making the decorative vanity and illuminated mirror more visible.

What we did for this project

Textured Marble-Effect Wall Tiling

Installed full-height white ribbed marble-effect tiles throughout the bathroom. The subtle horizontal texture gives the walls more character while the light colour keeps the room feeling spacious.

Large Marble-Effect Floor Tiles

The floor was finished with large white tiles featuring delicate grey veining, creating a clean base that contrasts beautifully with the darker fixtures.

Walk-In Shower Area

Created a generous walk-in shower with a low black shower tray and large clear glass screen. A slim black support bar keeps the enclosure visually light and minimal.

Matt Black Rainfall Shower

Installed a statement black rainfall shower system with a large round overhead head, handheld shower and matching controls.

Statement Vanity Unit

A dark grey vanity unit with integrated basin was installed, introducing practical storage without taking up too much floor space.

Gold Basin Taps

Rather than using standard chrome fittings, the basin was finished with traditional gold taps, creating a subtle contrast against the black vanity.

Round Illuminated Mirror

A large circular LED mirror was installed above the basin with a distinctive black hanging strap. It creates a strong focal point while also providing practical lighting.

Black Heated Towel Rail

A tall matt-black towel radiator was fitted beside the vanity, matching the shower hardware and helping tie the darker elements together.

Coordinated WC Details

The white WC was finished with a black toilet seat and gold flush handle, continuing the black-and-gold theme into the smaller details.

Window Shutters & Lighting

White plantation-style window shutters provide privacy while allowing plenty of natural light into the bathroom. Recessed ceiling spotlights were also installed to keep the room bright and uncluttered.

The Finished Result

This bathroom stands out because the finishes have been carefully coordinated rather than simply matching everything in one colour.

The textured white walls and marble-effect floor keep the room light, while the black shower fittings, vanity, shower tray and towel rail introduce strong contrast. Gold accents around the basin and WC add warmth without overpowering the design.

The result is a stylish bathroom with a more boutique, hotel-inspired feel while remaining practical for everyday use.
