Modern Grey Bathroom Renovation in Manchester

We completed this bathroom renovation in Manchester, transforming a dated and worn bathroom into a clean, modern and practical space. The old bath, pedestal basin and tired finishes were replaced with a spacious shower, large-format grey tiling, modern vanity storage and upgraded heating and lighting.

Before the Renovation

The original bathroom had an older bath with shower curtain, pedestal basin, standard WC, dated flooring and mixed wall finishes. There was also visible wear to the ceiling and surrounding surfaces, so the room needed a full refurbishment rather than a simple cosmetic update.

Planning & Design

The new layout was designed to make the bathroom easier to use and maintain. The existing bath and old fittings were removed, damaged areas were prepared, and the room was redesigned around a larger enclosed shower and modern sanitaryware.

What we did for this project

Large Grey Wall & Floor Tiling

Installed large-format grey stone-effect tiles across the walls and floor, including detailed tiling around the window and shower area for a consistent finish.

Bath-to-Shower Conversion

Removed the existing bath and created a spacious glass shower enclosure with a low-profile white tray, giving the bathroom a cleaner and more practical layout.

Rainfall Shower & Recessed Niche

Fitted a modern square rainfall shower, handheld shower and concealed chrome controls. We also created a tiled recessed shower niche for convenient storage.

Vanity Unit & Basin

Replaced the old pedestal basin with a modern vanity unit and integrated basin, providing useful storage while keeping the bathroom organised.

LED Mirror

Installed a large illuminated LED bathroom mirror above the vanity, creating a bright focal point and additional practical lighting.

New WC & Finishing

Fitted a modern WC with neatly boxed and tiled pipework, along with coordinated chrome bathroom accessories.

Heated Towel Radiator

Replaced the traditional radiator with a tall chrome heated towel rail, providing practical heating while matching the new fittings.

New Ceiling & Lighting

Updated the ceiling with a smooth white finish, recessed spotlights and improved lighting, making the bathroom feel much brighter and more modern.

The Finished Result

The completed bathroom is dramatically different from the original. The combination of marble-effect tiling, a large rainfall shower, LED mirror, vanity storage and chrome fittings creates a luxurious yet practical bathroom designed for everyday use.
